The Jazz Academy Orchestra (JAO) rehearsal begins September 22, 2010, and meets every other Wednesday at Sligo Middle School. To join the JAO an audition is required. The guide normally acknowledges colleges and universities but the Jazz Academy of Music is honored that such a prestigious publication took the time to recognize the 7th through 12th grade students featured on the CD.

The Jazz Academy Ensemble (JAE) is for young instrumental musicians that are interested in playing and performing jazz music in a group setting. JAE is an excellent opportunity for young musicians who have never improvised or created a solo or those who are in the formative stages of developing their improvisational skills. The next class begins September 22, 2010.
